p>Classes have expanded at Karen”s Studi0 125. We are into our third 1o week session for Recovery Center students who arrive by 2 p.m. on Wednesday afternoons. For one hour each student moves forward with their own, individual work. Some start with “First Level” drawings – stick people, a fence, lines, shapes and forms. Some move on to use John Gnagy”s workbook. Then some students have tried watercolor postcards or trading cards, others use colored pencils for their drawings. Now, several are doing acrylic paintings on canvas boards. Others continue studying perspective – using a drawing board, T-square and triangles.
The next group of students arrive anytime after 3 p.m. Some use watercolors to paint impressionist or floral subject matter, others come in to work on their own projects – chalk, colored pencil, watercolor, acrylic, oil, collage, crafts, etc. And, some come into relax and study. Class lasts until 6:45 p.m. so that the studio can be closed by 7. Some of us go out to dinner somewhere “after”.
If you visit Karen”s “Art, Music, Theater” Meetup group, you will see classes listed there and can sign up (RSVP) easily.
Also, for framing needs, Willie Evans of Framecare Studios comes in every other Wednesday evening @ 5:45 pm and stays until all orders are taken
or deliveries made. Willie does an excellent job of framing and his prices are good, too. He offers his service for artists who want to save on their framing costs.
